About

Plan, track, and complete tasks with Excel. Staying organized is easier when you can clearly see what needs to be done. In this project, you’ll create a Task Manager using Excel—a simple but effective system to plan, monitor, and complete daily or long-term tasks. This project shows how Excel can serve as a productivity tool without requiring any external apps. You’ll begin by designing a table with fields such as Task Name, Priority, Deadline, Status, and Notes. Using formatting options, you’ll build a clean layout where tasks are easy to read and update. Next, you’ll use Excel features to make the task manager interactive. Sorting and filtering will allow you to view only urgent or pending tasks. Conditional formatting will highlight overdue items automatically, helping you prioritize. You’ll also create drop-down lists for fields like Status (e.g., Not Started, In Progress, Completed) using data validation, ensuring consistency in your task tracking. Optionally, you can add formulas to calculate the number of tasks completed or the percentage of progress made. A simple chart can be included to visualize progress over time, turning the spreadsheet into a mini-dashboard. By the end of this project, you will be able to: Create a structured task management table in Excel. Use sorting, filtering, and drop-down menus for better control. Apply conditional formatting to highlight deadlines and priorities. Track completion rates and progress with formulas and charts. Build a reusable productivity tool for personal or team use. This project demonstrates how Excel can become a lightweight project management solution, helping you stay on top of tasks, deadlines, and priorities—all with simple but powerful spreadsheet tools.
